The Block is a modern, mid-rise development with for-sale condominiums located in the heart of the Salt neighborhood of Kakaako. The project originally went for sale back in 2017 but had experienced construction delays. Construction is thankfully now underway and should be completed in early 2021.
Although most of the units here are under contract, there are still some HHFDC units available for sale. This project has very limited parking spaces available and most units that are still for sale will not have a parking space included. However, if you are looking for a starter studio in a great part of town with very low maintenance fees, this may be the project for you.
There will be no project amenities except for secure bike/moped parking and a furnished rooftop deck for entertaining. This will keep maintenance fees low, which the building is designed to do.
If you are a fan of the Salt neighborhood of Kakaako, then you will enjoy this location quite a bit.
As you can see, The Block Waimanu is in a central location of Kakaako, within walking/biking distance of Salt and also Ward Village. If you are working in Downtown, Kakaako, Ala Moana or Waikiki your commute times will be minimal. There has been such a great influx of commercial spaces into all areas of Kakaako in the past few years that you wont get bored of trying out new restaurants and shops in the area. Biki's on every block make shooting around Kakaako super easy and you should be able to access Ala Moana Beach Park fairly easy.
There is a limited selection of studios available for sale under $300K. Parking spaces are NOT available for these units so that is essential when considering whether to purchase here or not.
