Ward Village is a new 60-acre masterplanned community in the heart of Honolulu being developed by The Howard Hughes Corporation. Howard Hughes is not a stranger to masterplanned communities and has overseen the development in communities such as Summerlin in Las Vegas, The Woodlands Texas, and Columbia, Maryland.
The community sits on prime oceanfront Hawaii real estate and is nestled next to Ala Moana Shopping Center, Ala Moana Beach Park, Kewalo Basin and Ward Avenue - all iconic Honolulu landmarks.
Historically a non-residential warehouse district, Kakaako is going through an incredible revitalization and Howard Hughes is leading the way with potentially up to 20 new towers within the next decade. Waiea and Anaha are the first two luxury towers to be completed within the master plan and have become instant landmarks due largely to their unique architectural designs. Complete with modern amenities and signature pools, these developments were built to make a statement for the future of the Honolulu skyline. Recently completed are Ke Kilohana and Ae'o, which sits atop the newest flagship multi-story Whole Foods which anchors the neighborhood.

Ward Village is built with wide walkways, bike lanes and a great selection of retail and restaurants. A key feature will be the Central Plaza, a 1.5 acre space next to Ward Entertainment Center which will add green space and become host to free events such as weekly yoga classes, farmers market, outdoor music and hula performances. Here is the latest rendering for the master planned community.
Three new towers (Ae'o, Anaha, Waiea) have been completed with three more in construction or in pre-sale. As you can see in the master plan, there are an additional 3 future development sites and a total of 15-20 that can potentially be built within the next 20 years.

With an influx of new residents, new restaurants and shops are flocking into the neighborhood as well. Nobu and Merriman's lay at the base of Waiea and Anaha respectively and are key influential restaurant brands who wisely decided to move into prime Ward Village locations.
