Kahuina is a joint development planned by Kamehameha Schools & Stanford Carr Development in the Our Kakaako / SALT neighborhood. Both developers have committed to bringing more new condo developments and increased inventory of workforce (affordable) condos to the urban core of Honolulu. At the heart of the master planned Our Kakaako community, Kahuina is the fourth planned new development in the Kaiāulu ʻo Kakaʻako Master Plan (KKMP) within Our Kakaʻako, Stanford Carr Development. Construction is set to start in late 2023 and be completed in 2026.
Kahina when translated means "crossroads and intersections" which fits perfectly in its integration into the planned master community of sprawling outdoor spaces and entertainment. 60% of the initial inventory for sale at Kahuina will be reserved for the affordable housing program as a commitment to increasing the affordability of housing in the dynamic and growing neighborhood of Kaka'ako.
Because this development is currently in the early planning and announcement phase, there is no pricing yet to be disclosed. However, typical units in comparable pre-construction phase usually range in the following prices:
Homeowners can expect some incredible sweeping ocean views from most ocean front facing units. The initial renders showcase some interesting features like lanais and mixed layout floor to ceiling glass windows on some unit stacks.
Because this new development is early in the planning phase there is no solid information on floor plates yet but recent new developments by the same developers in the neighborhood offer studio, one, two and three bedroom layouts.
Comparable condo developments have featured some of the following amenities which we belive to be included in the future plans when released:
In addition to the incredible possible amenity offerings, additional information showcasing the massive commercial retail footprint planned for the ground floor level of Kahuina. 35,000 square feet of new retail, restaurants and more will move in to support the more than 800 residential units in the area. Although, the location is very close the the trendy SALT at Our Kakaako, the addition of these new businesses into the area will be warmly welcomed.
Kahuina is located on a little more than three acres of land surrounded by Cooke, Auahi, Coral, and Pohukaina Street just a couple blocks away from SALT at Our Kakaako.
We love this location for a few reasons but most importantly because the Kaiāulu ʻo Kakaʻako Master Plan (KKMP) is integrating the new developments into an incredible new walkable neighborhood.
